What should your invoice show?

The best template matches the agreement you made with the customer. Hourly work needs time and rate columns. Fixed projects need clear deliverables or milestones. Product sales need quantities, unit prices, shipping, and any applicable sales tax. Recurring services should name the period covered.

Invoice template questions

What is an invoice template?

An invoice template is a reusable structure for billing a customer. It normally includes seller and customer details, an invoice number, issue and due dates, itemized charges, taxes, the total due, payment terms, and payment instructions.

Can I create an invoice without signing up?

Yes. Invoity lets you choose a profession template, edit the invoice and preview it without creating an account. PDF downloads cost $2.29 per document, or are included with Unlimited.

Which invoice template should I use?

Choose the template closest to how you charge. Service businesses usually itemize labor and materials, consultants use hours, milestones, or retainers, and product businesses list units, prices, shipping, and sales tax.

What file formats are available?

The live generator produces a PDF designed to be sent or printed. Invoity does not currently advertise Word, Excel, or Google Docs downloads on this page because those formats are not yet provided here.
